Periya Mahalingam

 The dense forests of Sathuragiri, Tamil Nadu, India are home to one of the most divine natural formations : Periya Mahalingam, one of the largest naturally occuring Shivlings.

Located in the dense forests of Sathuragiri, Tamil Nadu, the massive natural formation has taken the shape of a Shivling and is extensively revered by the locals. On the back side, the root formation of the trees have grown on the lingam in a manner that resembles the Jata of Bhagwan Shiv.
