In the temple of Avinasi, Lord Shiva (Avinaasiappar) who destroy our sorrows and Devi Parvati (Karunaambigai) who protects us with utmost care resides here. In this same place, Sundarar removed the sorrow of a couple who lost their child by bringing the same child back to life.
