Lingam or stone??🤔

Many ask this question regarding Lingam:🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃

Why the devotees are worshipping a stone(lingam) as their God??🤔🤔

Let's see a story 🌟🌟

Once there lived an old lady👵🏽 in a village.  Her son, daughter in law and 3 year old grandson 👨‍👩‍👦came to her home🏕 from a distant country.  They stayed with her for two weeks and then went back to their country.  After they left, the old lady noticed that her grandson left the shirt🧥 which he was fond of wearing.

What she did???

She kept it safely in her cupboard.🤨

She wouldn't be able to meet her grandson  anytime soon and she could have used for any cleaning purpose🧼🧽

But she did not do that 

Because she saw her grandson in that shirt.  She loved her grandson so much that she forgot it was just an ordinary shirt and whenever she saw the shirt🧥, she could remember only her grandson.👨‍👩‍👦

Similarly the devotees who love Lord Shiva would see Lord Shiva in the Lingam.  But for others, they would see the lingam just as a stone.

Conclusion:

If we have pure devotion towards Lord Shiva, then we would see Lingam as symbol of Lord Shiva.  But if we don't have that devotion, we would forget Lord Shiva and see Lingam as a stone
