Oh God! Please make me learn that for my (soul) progress, death is as important as life.
Sleep is essential for well being of the mind and body. To create new circumstances and to throw away our worn out body, death is essential. One who lives as a witness for his/her own life is fit for receiving the Knowledge of God.
We can't see darkness when there is sun. Similarly, when one sincerely think about God, he won't have the thought of death.
When Thirunavukkarasar (Appar) obtained the Knowledge of God, he got converted from Jainism to Shaivism. Seeing this, the jains tortured him and even tried to kill him. Since Appar always had the thought of Lord Shiva, he never thought about death.
So whoever sincerely thinks of God will overcome the thought of death.
சூரியனிடத்திருந்து🌝 இருளைக்காண முடியாது. பகவத் சிந்தனையில் ஆழ்ந்திருப்பவர் உள்ளத்தில் மரணத்தைப் பற்றிய நினைவு வருவதில்லை.
அப்பர் சுவாமிகளுக்கு மெய்யுணர்வு வந்த பொழுது மதம் மாறினார். அதைக் குறித்துப் பழைய மதவாதிகள் அவரைப் படாதபாடு படுத்தினர். அவரைக் கொல்ல முயன்றனர். கடவுள் எண்ணத்திலேயே நிலைத்திருந்த அவருக்கு மரணத்தைப் பற்றிய நினைவே வரவில்லை.

கர்நாடக மாநிலம் ஹம்பியில் லட்சுமி நரசிம்மர் கோயிலுக்கருகில் 9 அடி உயரமுள்ள இந்த படவலிங்கம் அமைந்துள்ளது. ஒற்றைக் கருங்கல்லில் வடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள இந்த லிங்கத்தில் மூன்று கண்கள் செதுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. இது சிவபெருமானின் மூன்று கண்களாக கருதப்படுகின்றன. இது ஹம்பியிலுள்ள லிங்கங்களுள் மிகப் பெரியதாகும். ஒரு ஏழை விவசாயப் பெண் இதனைக் கட்டியதாக வரலாறு உள்ளது. லிங்கம் உள்ள அறை வழியாக ஒரு வாய்க்கால் செல்வதால் லிங்கத்தின் அடிப்பகுதி நீரால் சூழப்பட்டு அவ்வறையில் எப்பொழுதும் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட அளவுக்கு நீர் உள்ளது.
