Yama

'Yama' is one of the eight steps of Raja Yoga:

✨Yama means to eliminate all bad qualities✨

It contains 5 subdivisions:

1⃣ Non killing of other living beings in our thoughts, speech, work

2⃣ Non stealing of other's possessions in our thoughts, speech, work.

3⃣ To observe strict Brahmacharya in our thoughts, speech, work 

4⃣ To follow truthfulness in our thoughts, speech, work

5⃣ Non receiving of gifts from others.

If we follow the above 5 rules, then all our bad qualities will get wiped away.

இயமம்

இயமம், எட்டுப்‌ பகுதிகளைக்‌ கொண்ட அட்டாங்க யோகத்தில் ஒரு பகுதி ஆகும்.

✨இயமம்‌: தீமைகளைப்‌ போக்குவது.✨ 

இதில்‌ ஐந்து பிரிவுகள்‌ உள்ளன:

1⃣ மனதாலும்‌, பேச்சாலும்‌, செயலினாலும்‌ எந்த உயிரையும்‌ துன்புறுத்தாமை. 

2⃣ மனதாலும்‌, பேச்சாலும்‌, செயலினாலும்‌ பிறர்‌ பொருளைக்‌ களவாடாமை. 

3⃣ மனதாலும்‌, பேச்சாலும்‌, செயலினாலும்‌ முழு பிரம்மச்சரியம்‌ கடைப்பிடித்தல்‌. 

4⃣ மனதாலும்‌, பேச்சாலும்‌, செயலினாலும்‌ உண்மையைப்‌ பின்பற்றுதல்‌. 

5⃣ பிறர்‌ கொடுக்கும்‌ பரிசுகளைப்‌ பெற்றுக்‌ கொள்ளாமை. (ஆசைப்‌ படாமலிருத்தல்‌)

இதனைக்‌ கடைபிடித்தால்‌ நம்மிடமுள்ள அனைத்து தீமைகளும்‌ விலகும்‌.

துன்பங்களை நாசம்‌ செய்தருளும்‌ பெருங்கேடிலியப்பராக அவிநாசியப்பர்‌ என்னும்‌ திருநாமத்தோடு ஐயனும்‌, அரவணைத்துப்‌ பாதுகாக்கும்‌ பெருங்கருணை நாயகியாக கருணாம்பிகை என்னும்‌ திருநாமத்தோடு அம்மையும்‌ காட்சி கொடுக்கும்‌ திருத்தலமான அவிநாசியில்‌, பிள்ளையை இழந்து தவித்த பெற்றோரின்‌ துயரத்தைப்‌ போக்கி, அவர்களுக்கு சுந்தரமூர்த்தி சுவாமிகள்  பிள்ளையை மீட்டுத்‌ தந்து,  அற்புதத்தை நிகழ்த்தி அருளினார்.
